Enriching its repertoire of international accolades, Abu Dhabi University welcomed the new academic year with several milestones, achieving top ranks in the prestigious Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings for 2018. The University topped the ranks as one of the best 2.8% universities in the world, scoring third on the “International Faculty Index” for its faculty’s diverse cultural backgrounds, and ninth on the “International Student Index” for its international student body, thereby surpassing approximately 26,000 universities globally.

Moreover, ADU ranked in QS’s “Top 150 under 50”, top 7 of private young universities worldwide, top 3 of private young universities in the Arab World, and top 16 of the best private universities worldwide. A significant accomplishment as ADU is only 15 years old.

Commenting on these momentous achievements, H.E Ali Saeed Bin Harmal Al Dhaheri, Chairman of ADU’s Executive Board, said: “We are extremely proud to have attained these international rankings that are yet another testament to the quality of higher education in the United Arab Emirates, a source of pride for us all, and a strong indicator that ADU is on the right track. These accomplishments also reflect the vision of our wise leadership represented by H.H Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, H.H Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, as well as Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates. A vision that focuses on transforming the nation into a global hub for quality higher education with its universities leading global competitiveness indicators in all fields.”
Bin Harmal went on to explain that the University’s continuing success in earning national and international recognition is the culmination of its dedication to excellence which has always been a focal point in its strategy. “H.H Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region and President of ADU’s Board of Regents, has always envisioned ADU as a pioneering center of intellectual creativity, that sets the standard of excellence in teaching, cutting-edge scientific research, and community service. The University’s recent feats will allow it to fulfill this vision and continue to attract world-renowned faculty from across the globe, embrace students who hail from more than 70 countries, offering them all the opportunity to interact, and develop a system of values that reflects the UAE’s climate of tolerance and cultural cohesion”, explained Bin Harmal.
